Our swimmers are a highly active group within the Mid-Argyll Tri & Cycle Club.

SwimFit training at Lochgilphead Swimming Pool offers a choice of 2 sessions.  Thursday 7-8pm session aims to improve general swim-fitness and technique; while Saturday morning sessions at 8-9am & 9-10am aim to increase stamina.  While subtle competitiveness develops between swimmers and there is a set swim-plan to follow, much of the sessions are fairly informal and sociable.

A good number of members also don their wetsuits on a weekly basis for a brave dose of wild-swimming in any one of the vast multitude of open-water sea lochs, freshwater lochs or rivers.  Mid Argyll is exceptionally well served for our abundance of accessible, safe and enjoyable wild swimming spots.  Our wild-swimmers are out each week on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays (rotates on a semi-weekly basis) at 6.30pm.  Information on the week’s swim location is decided and notified weekly via the wild-swimming e-mailing list.

Tue 1st Sept – Carsaig, 6.30pm

Tue 8th Sept – Loch Coille-Bharr, 6.30pm

Tue 15th or Wed 16th Sept – River Add swim/canyoning (Kirnan Estate to Bridgend), 6.30pm
